One way of protecting the nature as well as promoting the city’s tourism, the City of Silay is not only notable with antique architecture and ancestral houses but also with its natural tourist spot found in Balaring.

Balaring is almost a 20-minute travel via tricycle from the heart of the city. The entrance to the park itself is not that notable enough for new visitors, therefore a local guide is a need and recommended. But if impossible to have a local guide, inquiry from local residents is required to avoid getting lost.

In order to get to the park, you need to pass through a small passage between houses in the baranggay. There is no signage to the passage nor in the main road, so it is not that really noticeable when you just pass by there. An entrance fee is required for maintaince which would cost P20 for adults and P10 for students.

The Balaring Mangroove Coastal Eco-tourism Park is subsidized from the Green donation by the National Land Aforrestation Promotion Organization carried out to protect the National Environment with the aide of Green Volunteers.

If you want to take a dip at the natural sea water that supplies food to the Mangrooves, you make take on of the stairs at the end of the bridge.

The bridge is a 20-minute walk with available nipa cottages at a low rate. The place is a great way to relax and spend a day with nature.

Although the park is maintained, there are few areas that could cause harm and danger to travellers, so be cautious as you can while walking. Other than that, the place is totally safe.

At the end of the bamboo bridge is a small island for group or barkada gathering, perfect for picnics and camping. Small banca is available upon request for island tour for a cost, however not available at all times.
